Another vacay?

So, it has definitely been awhile since I have posted anything. Things have been crazy busy at work and when I get home, I just want to veg out and hang with my boys! Well I finally got an opportunity to take another long weekend and hang out. It seems like so much has happened since I was on here last, I accepted a new position (a promotion, YEAH GO ME!) to be the HR representative for the IU School of Dentistry. It was a very hard decision to make, I love where I am at, love the people and most of what I do... but I looked at where I needed to be professionally and what would be the best for our family and I knew this was the option for me. Its great because I have already worked with my new boss, this entire year and she is the person that hired me in my position now, so she knows exactly what is needed to make me effective!! :)

Grant started "school", really it is daycare, but we call it school, one day a week. The first day he loved it, but last week he was really sad :( I think he will really start to like it, it just may take some time. He brings home the CUTEST artwork ever. Sometimes you wonder if the teacher did it and wrote their name on it, or if they did it. The first one was definitely his, but the second, looked like the teacher did them all and just labeled them with their names on it :) hahaha

We went to the Fishers Festival, which is always fun! They have all kinds of booths and things to do for little kids, of course I think the food is the best thing :) We let Grant go to town on some chocolate ice cream on a Saturday morning, boy did he love that!! HA
Fourth of July was really fun.... we hung out at home, G passed out early and we did a block party. Had drinks, sat in the ran, lite fireworks... the whole SHABANG! I would post funny some videos of the karaoke that took place in our house, but that is bad, bad evidence that I dont want leaked on the net... (you better not PATRICIA!! ;)
I really enjoy my mini vacations... I am off work until Thursday and it is FABULOUS! I posted some random pics.. hopefully, with my new job, I will have a little more time to post and get organized!

Daddy's Day!

It has been so very crazy at work, making sure all of our new residents get in and taken care of and end of year data stuff, I havent had an opportunity to write. On a side note, I do have an interview tomorrow for a promotion within the dental school, within HR. I am excited and although I love my job, always need to look at what can better me and my career. I think this opportunity would be very positive for me and where I would like my career to take me.
This past weekend was so good. Scott, Grant and I really had a chance to spend some QT together. We went out for dinner on Friday and came home and hung out. Saturday we went to get our pictures taken for my dad's 50th birthday and father's day and played the rest of the day. Sunday we did father's day, had a blast and ate a wonderful (but yes, fattening dinner!). I really enjoyed having a relaxing weekend. I know the next few weekends will be crazy with birthday parties, fourth of July and concerts, so it was nice to have a stressfree weekend. This is by far one of my favorite pictures of my boys :) He left the photo place before knowing what I ordered and I framed it for him to take to work, as well as a very sentimental gift that he loved! :) I am so very lucky for both of them and I thank god everyday that I do! I wouldnt have my life any other way!!!

WTF??

Dont worry, this is no one I know. My husband was reading WRTV.com (proper citing the source of the picture :) and he stumbled across this story that is totally funny and ridiculous. This is a Jeffersonville lawyer who happened to get too drunk with some friends and this is where he decided to pass out, in a TRASH CAN!! haha We have all had those nights where we have been a little too drunk, but DAMN, really, I have never been to that level. You know this guy has to feel about an inch tall. The story ended with the police deciding not to file charges! I guess that is one bright spot to this drunken mess :)

Random Thought...

Just thought I would type this so I do not forget the day that I actually had someone eat my lunch. I just brought it today, so it had not been chilling long. I was so hungry and livid when I found out that someone ate it, then I figured out who did it and it made me even more irritated. Yes, I made her give me money because 1. that is ridiculous and 2. she does it all the time and she was going to pay for eating my lunch because that left me with nothing to eat. I mean seriously, who does that?? hahaha I guess I need to make sure I label it obnoxiously big to make sure no one eats it!!

Nighty night...

AZ Round Dos

Scotty and I decided to head back to AZ, just the two of us so we could hang out with our favorite family and relax with no worries. It was a little weird not having the GMan, but I know how very important it is to have time away. We had a flipping blast! We did some sight seeing, relaxed, laid out by the pool, hung around the resort and drank like fish ;) It was nice to just get away knowing our awesome family was taking care of him and not to have a care in the world. I didnt have to worry about any work, answering emails or phone calls, or chasing a two year old around all day... it was just us two! I have posted a few pics on Facebook, but here are couple. I definitely want to make it a point to get away more often, lord knows I have way too much time off to kill and I LOVE IT!!

"Thank you for being a friend"

My little guy is so funny! He loves the Golden Girls, just like his mommy. He gets super excited when the music comes on, he runs up to the TV and starts dancing. He will continue to dance until the music goes off and will sway everytime they change scenes. What makes it even funnier is that if he is in his playroom, he will stop what he is doing and go in to dance. He is the light of my life and everyday with him amazes me!

June storms

For the record my boys and I never usually go out to dinner on a "school night." I find it very important to cook dinner every night and eat together as a family, then immediately play afterwards. Today was a crazy day at work, I was completely swamped and just really wanted to go out to dinner and do something different... and was NOT in the mood to cook. We were watching the news before we left and we knew some thunderstorms were going to be coming, but nothing more than that. Wow, did we see some wacky stuff this evening. We headed into downtown Fishers and the sky was green... GREEN! You could tell exactly where the storm started. We got passed DQ and it started raining and briefly hailing. I told Scott to quickly pull into this bank that was coming up. It was a good thing we did. We pulled into the ATM lane and it went nuts. The trees were completely sideways, the large hail was coming down and my poor little man was so scared and started crying!! I climbed into the back seat and I looked around everywhere and the sky was sooo incredibly dark and there were now 5 cars all trying to squeeze into this bank! We watched this storm for about 15 minutes before we left. We decided to just go ahead and pick something quick up, didnt want to take anymore chances. Thankfully, we had no damage to our car, but as we drove across the street to the Marsh parking lot we saw at least 10 cars who had their back windows busted out. Then we looked up and saw the big, large glass windows of the supermarket completely busted. OMG!!

As we drove home we saw all kinds of stuff, debris everywhere, large trees and pine trees uprooted, flooding like you wouldnt believe. Its not like it was even a long storm, but it caused a lot of damage. We got home and again, thankfully there was no damage to our house, our neighbor did lose a tree (completely split in half) as did a few other people in the neighborhood. We are supposed to have more storms tomorrow, I hope it is nothing like this evening. The pics above are the couple of pictures I was able to snap from my phone!

New Toy!

Yeeeah, we are completely stoked. We received our new laptop yesterday and we ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! The first thing we did (after putting the necessary software and updates) we Skyped it up with our favorite family, the Cromie's! We are so excited to see them again and this time we will have adult time because we will have no kiddies! I will no doubt miss Grantman, but I know he will be in good hands!!! I am excited to be able to sit by a pool, get some sun (flipping hot sun, if I may add) and have a few cocktails. That sounds so amazing. We wont even know what to do with ourselves not chasing a two year old around.

Since we have a new laptop with all the bells and whistles I have decided to put in a request at work to work two days from home. :) I am hoping I can put my case and reasoning together this weekend and submit it on Monday. I have been at a standstill, I really really love my job, but there happens to be a position that opened up within our group that would be a step up and I havent decided if it is something that I want. I thought that if I could really have the opportunity to work from home and still do the things I love that I may not apply for it. But on the flipside, I think I would always be wondering if I didnt apply. Oh, decisions, decisions! I guess we will see after this weekend.

I hope everyone had a wonderful week. I am sure I will posting more since I am so excited to have our laptop!

Mini vacation...

For the past few days I have been off work. I like to take advantage of a holiday and piggy back days off to spend a little extra time with my favorite little guy in the world. :) We have had too much fun!! Me, Grant and my momma have just been hanging out... we went to our favorite park both days, played outside, (which Indiana weather people are dumb, both days everyone said it was going to be a wash out, but it was BEAUTIFUL!)
I cant tell you how fun it is to stop from your day-to-day routine and have no worries. I didnt worry about what time it was, what we needed to get done or get to next, to me I had all the time in the world. I think these days are much needed and I plan for them. I remember a little over a year ago being so burnt out, feeling like I had no time to do anything for myself and hating my job, this is why I understand the need for these days.

I took so many pics over the last few days, these are just a few to show everyone. As always, I keep pics updated on my facebook page.
Tomorrow is back to reality, but these are times that I will always cherish. :) Until next time bloggers...

The Guy on the Couch...

For anyone that has ever seen Half Baked knows about the guy on the couch. Well, I wouldnt say we had a stoner on the couch, but we do have a cute and random story. We have this neighbor, his name is Matt. We absolutely LOVE MATT! We do almost everything together... with that being said, we hung out Saturday and had a few cocktails. Matt is a scotch drinker (BLECK, but I digress!) Waking up on Sunday morning was a little rough. So the Suter's went out to breakfast, came home and chilled. We decided to have a relaxing Sunday night since I was up sick all night with post-gallbladder woes (lets not even go there) and Scotty was tired from GMan waking up so flipping early. And Matt, well maybe because of the beer and scotch mix!?

We went out to lunch at the Nickel Plate, the best small pub in Fishers and decided to go back and chill at our place, maybe watch a movie. We put on Dane Cook's Comedy Central special first and we were just all kind of dazed. We then decided after Grant was asleep that we would watch "Paul Blart, Mall Cop." Within about 30 minutes of being home, Matt laid out on the couch and was relaxing. Instantly, within minutes, he was snoring like a MACK TRUCK... no joke! Scott and I just could not stop laughing and that is how we were the entire night!! Even a few times Grant ran down the hall trying to get his attention... "MATT, MATT, nothing". We ended up playing with G; feeding him two snacks, brushing his teeth, putting him to bed, watching the Indy 500 race coverage, watching the movie, taking the trash out, watching part of the NBA playoffs... during the entire time he was asleep... 3 HOURS to be exact. It was the best entertainment EVER. I have to tell you, our couch is the best snoozing couch ever!! We ended up sending him a smart ass text message 3.5 hours in to it and it totally threw him off and he woke up laughing that he had really been asleep that long. Being the funny people we are, you bet your smart ass we got pictures and a video! MUAHHAHAHAAHA the two pics below are of him sleeping, the other pic is a pictures of us the night before, acting a fool ;) Good times at the Suter household, cant beat it!!

Sleeping Beauty...

Just let me get my thoughts together...

Me and Matty Pittman... maybe the reason he was so sleepy?? :)

Funny story

When Grant was an itty bitty baby we used to have him in his vibrating rocker, which was the Itsy Bitsy Bouncer. He LOOOOVED this thing. The minute you would put him in there, he would relax and chill... there may have been a few fussy nights when he slept in there all night ;) We still had it in his room, in the corner, tucked away by his crib. He never really messed with it and we usually just turn on the music before bed or he would if he was in there playing. The other day I was cleaning up the house and putting some dishes in the dishwasher and Grant was off playing his room. I will randomly go check on him, he is either in his playroom (yes, the kid has a playroom), or in his room playing with the massive amount of toys he has. It had been a few minutes and I didnt really hear much. Now when the GMan is quiet, you have to start to wonder, what kind of trouble is he getting into?
I decided to head back to the playroom, he wasnt there. I turned the corner and saw him in the corner of his room making a few huffs and puffs. I immediately ran to go get the camera, this was too good. He was trying to wedge himself up in the chair with the itsy bitsy spider bar up. Mind you, this chair is good for 20-25 lbs and below...this little one weighs about 33 lbs. He was trying to lay in there and relax and when I came in, it looked like he was trying to sleep. HAHAHA The back of the chair was completely to the floor and there is barely room for anything in this corner. I tried to snap the best pictures I could, but he was trying to get out when I came in, as he knew he kind of "got caught." It was really cute...

What I snuck in on!!

His eyes were partially closed

Nope, nevermind, I am up!

Who is a big boy?

Yesterday I really came to understand just how much of a big boy my little man is! You see your children grow right in front of you and it amazes me how fast it goes by.

We went to BW3 (no wings for me.. only chips and salsa and a tall one! ;). Usually when we go there Grant either likes the corn dogs, but takes off the breading just to have the dog, OR the chicken fingers and fries. Well this time I wanted him to have something different.... so we went with their mac and cheese. Anyone who knows Grant, the minute he learned that he could eat by himself without anyone shoving a spoon in his mouth, he wants to do it himself! We have seen mess after mess, on him, on the carpet, on the high chair...everything! This time was very different, yes, he still made a slight mess on his clothes, but he ate so well with the spoon and really ate the entire thing. He didnt try to throw it or smear it in the table! I was so proud of him!! (I have a few mobile pics on my Facebook Album) He is growing up and learning so many things... My husband pointed it out so clearly, the husbands get so excited that the children are growing up and becoming little people and the woman are in the background sad because their baby's are growing up and they miss having little ones in the house. I definitely miss the baby phase... but that time will come again. We are content where we are now and we are going to spoil our little guy rotten in the meantime. :) Here are a few pics I took of him this weekend, he rocks!

Good times...

I have to tell you working full-time, balancing a family and friends becomes tough. Every weekend, during the summer for as long as my Scotty and I have been together, we have always had friends and family over. Drinks, dinner, both.. it doesn't matter, our house is the hang out spot. I absolutely love it!! :) These are a few pics from the weekend, some Saturday, some Sunday... but we have a good time! Enjoy!

Yummy... Oreo Mint Blizzard

Notice how his fingers are crossed, I noticed a boy doing this at the birthday party, kids are so preceptive :)

Um, isn't this how you play?

Me and mommy love to play! hahaha

My baby and I
Of course, you can always check out the Facebook page for full pictures! :)

Momma's Day II

My Mother's Day was wonderful... I was pampered THE ENTIRE DAY, which is of course how it always should be. I woke up and Scott had made me breakfast (everyone that understands how obsessive I am with counting calories, it was out the door today :) aren't you proud Kels!?) I had an omelet with tons of yummy veggies, Scott's famous potato casserole, fruit, mimosa... well I say mimosa but really I didn't want the OJ, so champagne at 8 AM and the rest of the day :)... and good times with my momma and my momma-in-law! We had such a relaxing morning, chatting, playing with Grant in the backyard and doing a whole lot of nothing (huh, kind of like my day on Friday... goal accomplished!)

I got the sweetest card from Scott and Grant and yes, I got my Puma's I have been wanting. :) hahaha I am obsessed with shoes and cant even begin to tell you how many I have, but this is something that I picked out in AZ and my baby remembered them... so momma gets what momma wants :)

We had a 1st birthday party to go to that was a ton of fun! Christopher is so darling. Anyone who is my friend on Facebook, check out Sarah Buckner's pics... especially the ones from his school, too precious!

After that, Grant laid down for a nap and our wonderful neighbor Matt came over (shout out Matthew Pittman :) and made dinner for me with Scott. Let me tell you, the combo is awesome... I love food, when I can binge, so this was perfect :)

Overall, I had an amazing Mother's Day. My hubby has made it so important to me since the moment I was pregnant... hint, hint, lets go back to Ruth's Chris ;) I am so lucky to have all of the wonderful people in my life, especially my momma and boys!

Happy Mother's Day to all of the beautiful mothers in the world... WE DO ROCK THE WORLD! XOXOXO

Momma's Day!

When you become a mother you are transformed into a woman who can do anything and I have to tell you it is the most AMAZING feeling in the world. This holiday is so special to me, it is not just a holiday where you buy your mom a card or a gift and thank her for all that she has done, for me, it is way more. My mother is my best friend. I cant tell you how many times I call her a day or how many questions I ask (especially after having a child!) she has always been there for me. When I think of the picture perfect mother... she is it! She is so selfless and took care of my brother and I without thinking of herself. I know there were hard times, but yet she always made sure that we had what we needed, but also, what we wanted! I can only hope that as Grant gets older and I have one... eeehhh maybe two more children, that I can become half of the mother that she was/is to me... and can love my grandchildren as much as I see with her and GMan. I am blessed because Grant gets to be with his grandmother during the week (although we will be putting him PT into daycare!) because he really gets to form a bond with her that is indescribable. This is to my momma... Happy Mother's Day Momma.... you are the best and we all love you very much :)

Relaxation

Well, today I had the day off from work and I really didn't do much of anything. I didn't get anything big accomplished, I didn't do work, I didn't clean... it was just a relaxing day where I hung out with my baby Grant and my momma... I LOVED IT! (C'mon 102 million dollar powerball so I can stay home! ;) It was a day where I really didn't have to worry about anything. I am hopefully going to push my way to make that an entire weekend thing, I mean it is Mother's Day weekend and all!! Here are some goofy pics of me and Grant that we took, he really cracks me up. I am so very lucky to be a mom, especially to this amazing, gifted little boy. He is beyond a doubt a boy genius (typical mom lingo huh!?) He learned a new word today, Meijer (as in lower prices, guaranteed), but it was so funny the way he says it. All day everything has been Meijer, but pronounced MAYA... hahaha too funny! I guess you really have to be there. :)
I am sure I will be posting some stories from this weekend, as we are having a small gathering of friends tomorrow night, which is always a good time and Mom's Day on Sunday.... I just want to tell all the mommy's to have a wonderful Mother's Day... WE ROCK! XOXOXO

It has happened...

My handsome son has mastered the word "NO."
It is kind of funny, although I definitely do not let him see me snicker or make a fuss over it. He still baby babbles and some of the words still come out like a baby/toddler. Oh, but not the word no... it is clear as day as if an adult said it! His vocabulary is getting so big everyday, he amazes me with the things he says and does. I know I have typed that before and I am so biased, but he is really smart and really comprehends alot for his age! Tonight he used it with every other word that came out of his mouth... "Caillou, ball, NO, balloon, ball, NO, NO, NO, NO, cracker, Bo-Bo, shoe, cheese, NO, NO, NO!" hahaha At this point in time, he understands what it means but not really telling it to us, that is why I try not to make a big deal out of it. I can only imagine later that he will use it and be quit the devilish little boy that he is!! ;) I mean look at that cutie smile above (which I have posted before, but I think he looks so cute!)... he is definitely my world. I know at least one main purpose of my life is to be a mommy and I love it!

I cannot believe how fast time goes. It amazes me that he will be 2 in July, it feels like I was just preggers. When Scott and I talked about having children, we always said we wanted them to be about 2-3 years apart. Yeah, that is vastly approaching and right now, I think we are perfectly content with our family and lifestyle that we live. Yes, we want at least one more child, but I think that can wait until Grant is maybe... mmmmm... 4! :)
Our next battle and what you will hear about soon... Operation Pacifier: Non-Existence.... until next time bloggers...

We will miss you Dorothy Zbornak...

This past weekend I lost a beloved member of my family. Go ahead, laugh, make fun, do as you will... but Bea Arthur, aka Dorothy Zbornak, passed away from cancer at age 86. Those of you that know me undoubtedly know my true obsession with the Golden Girls, it is my all time favorite show!! I mean, I have all of the DVD box sets, I know every word to every episode and could probably see an entire episode in my head without even watching it! What is funny is that when people started to hear that she had passed, everyone INSTANTLY thought of me, too cute! :)

This is a tribute to one of my girls... I only have 2 left, Blanche and Rose. We will miss you Dorothy Z!!!

Happy Birthday Baby!!!!

Yesterday was my wonderful husband's birthday... he turned 29!!! I cant believe how time quickly goes. I remember sitting in study hall with him (I was 14, he was 17 going on 18) and now look... we are heading toward our 30's!!
I was super excited to give him his gift. The original gift was just going to be a Lowe's gift card so he could go buck wild and spend some money without me asking for a receipt. :) Then out of curiosity I decided to call this really nice liquor store to see if they have one of Scott's favorite beers, New Belgium Fat Tire. Mind you, this beer is everywhere, EVERYWHERE EXCEPT Indiana. So I called with the low expectations that they arent going to have it and they will say no. To my surprise... they were getting in their first shipment YESTERDAY... on Scotty's birthday. I was sooooooooooooo ecstatic. I had my mom go and pick it up during the day and I thought a 12 pack should suffice. I knew it was going to be pretty expensive, but I thought what the hey, its his birthday. Now, I was expecting about 20-25 for the 12 pack. My mom called me and asked if I was sure I wanted the 12 pack, I said yes and she then told me that it was going to be 46.00 for it!! OMG, this stuff better be made of gold... It is good, but I dont know about that good. I decided to opt for the 6 pack instead. Luckily when she got home, she noticed they were 22 oz, instead of 12, which kind of justified it a little bit. :) He loved them and was so incredibly shocked that I thought about it enough to call and see if they had it!
What is cool, the bottles have a commemorative slogan on the front "Happily Pedaling to the Hoosier State 2009."

Well baby, I hope you had a wonderful birthday. I love you with all my heart and I am so lucky to have you as my husband... The Suter's rock!! :)

Our plane ride home!!

Well after the first experience getting to AZ, I think we mentally tried to get prepared for what may happen on the way home. It was another non-stop flight and it was again supposed to be during a naptime for Mr. GMan! We decided to buy some Childrens Benedryl, since my forgetful mind forgot it on the way out. That was given to him (a very small amount before we got to the airport.) We get to the aiport about an hour and a half early and got to the gate. He was playing, I got some nice greasy BK breakfast for the family to split and he was already looking tired. Within about 20 minutes at the gate, they start boarding.

We got on the plane, got our stuff put away got settled in and Grant was chill. He continued to eat, looked at magazines, flirting with every lady in sight. I watched a man and woman couple come on and sit in front of us and was thinking, please let these people be ok in case Grant had an episode again. The man was pretty darn hefty... I would say about 275-300 lbs. The minute he sits down, he leans his chair back leaving me almost NO ROOM. So that was hiccup number one, since I knew I could hold Grant for a little bit and he could look out the window.

We took off, no problem... we are in the air for about 1.5 hours and the mysterious toddler started to put on a show like he did on the first flight. I thought OMG, not this again. We were all tired and I did not want to break another bra. ;) He was crying, flipping, kicking, getting super hot... so bad to the point Scott had to walk up and down the aisle to calm him down. I told him to wash out his sippy cup and put some ice cold juice in it, he had only had milk earlier and water before we got on the plane. That seemed to help a bit. He at least stopped crying. He was still fidgeting and not comfortable, but really who isnt in an airplane?
Overall, for how old he is... I think he handled the flights pretty well. It was definitely an experience. Everyone around us was totally understanding. Although as we were leaving this husky flight attendant, who was taking care of first class passengers, commented to the couple that walked out behind me "oh, is cranky better?" OMG, are you kidding me? First off, we were no where near first class and how dare you say that about my child? I am pretty sure he was not the worst kid that has ever been on a flight she has been on. Those were fighting words. Had I not been ready to get off that plane, I may have given her a peace of my mind... but I left it at that. We were glad to be home, although we miss our Cromie's and will hopefully see them in June!
